Ohio County Borders from 1803 through 1888

Unread post by jazztech »

I used the 1st site below to determine which counties existed on March 1st 1803, There are ten of them.

From what I've heard we only need to Assemble these ten counties before assembling and Settling Ohio.

Prove me wrong.

The site is ATLAS OF HISTORICAL COUNTY BORDERS

https://digital.newberry.org/ahcb/map/map.html#OH

Another site is the OHIO GEOGRAPHY, FORMATION OF COUNTIES - TIMELINE

http://dgmweb.net/Ancillary/Geog/OH/OH-Timeline.html

The last is an alpabetical list of "Ohio County Creation Dates and Parent Counties".

Correction. I found out that Wayne county was founded in 1796 in the territory in NW Ohio, but it was later ceded to Michigan. Then Wyne county as it exists today was Joined the other counties on March 1, 1812, so it doesn't count as an 1803 county.
